An audio recording of the first lecture in the new postgraduate lecture series is now available. Tom Cutterham's lecture gives an interpretation of the American founding, from revolution to constitution, offering readings of major sources from Common Sense to the Federalist Papers.

Postgraduate lecture series: New Approaches to the History of the United States
Postgraduate Americanists from the RAI will be offering fresh historical insights into the problems of US history from the perspective of their own research in a new lecture series at the Examination Schools on Mondays and Wednesdays in Trinity Term. The series offers innovative thematic and conceptual approaches to the history of the Unites States from the Revolution to the present day.

The RAI website is relaunching today with a new design. We hope it will be a more user-friendly, dynamic site that will provide a better 'shop window' on the web for the RAI's many and various activities and communities.

Graduate Studentship in American Literature: Applications now welcome
The Rothermere American Institute invites applications from current graduate members of Oxford University for election to:
A one-year graduate studentship to the value of £12,000 per annum, for a fourth-year graduate student working in the field of American Literature.
