The Rothermere American Institute invites nominations for Supernumerary Research and Teaching Fellowships.
Applicants will be academics who teach or research US culture, history, literature or politics. They must have a track record of commitment to the intellectual life of the RAI. This can take many forms, including attending and participating in seminars/events and a record of/willingness to contribute to the Institute's mission of teaching and researching the United States. It is expected that the SRTF will continue to be involved in the life of the Institute.
The Institute is unable to offer office space to SRTFs, but they will have use of the Vere Harmsworth Library and University facilities (including email) for the duration of their Fellowship.
Applications should consist of 3 elements:
- A one-page cover letter written by the nominee, outlining how he/she has contributed to the Institute’s teaching and research, and how they propose to contribute in the future.
- A CV of no more than 2 pages.
- A letter of nomination from an individual postholder or subject group (typically from the Faculty of English, Faculty of History, or Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford).
Applications should be submitted electronically by 30 January or 22 May 2017 to Joanne Steventon at email@example.com.
The selection committee reserves the right not to consider late or incomplete applications.
