Martha Swift

D.Phil. in English

Martha Swift is a Commonwealth Scholar at the University of Oxford. She has an M.St. in World Literatures from Oxford and a B.A. (Hons) in Literature and History from the University of Melbourne, where she graduated with the 2017 Percival Serle Prize for the best Honours thesis in Literature. She was the 2019 recipient of Melbourne’s Rae and Edith Bennett Scholarship, as well as the 2016 Richard Gunter Prize, the 2015 Rosemary Merlo Prize, and a 2015 Global Scholars Award. Her forthcoming publications include a chapter in an edited volume on ‘Fiction in the Age of Globalization’ from De Gruyter and an entry in the architectural project SENT. Her writing has appeared in It’s Freezing in LA!, ArtBlog, and Spike: The Meanjin Blog, and she has served on the editorial boards of publications at Oxford, the University of Melbourne, and the University of Pennsylvania, including the peer-reviewed journal The New Collection.
