American Voices International: RAI hosts launch of new PAC

'Super Tuesday', 1st March, saw the RAI host the launch of American Voices International (AVI), a new Political Action Committee (PAC). Chaired by Stacy Hilliard (right, with Jay Sexton), former Vice-Chair of Republicans Abroad UK, AVI is an independent PAC which seeks to provide a voice for Americans living overseas through engagement with policy makers in Washington, D.C.

Hilliard participated in a roundtable discussion on American voters overseas, following publication of the RAI's new report: America’s Overseas Voters: How they could decide the US Presidency in 2016. Joining Hilliard in the discussion, moderated by RAI Director Jay Sexton, was Bill Barnard, former Chair of Democrats Abroad UK.

"Our mission is to ensure the voice of Americans living overseas is heard by policy makers in Washington, D.C. on domestic and foreign affairs, which directly affect the security and welfare of American citizens abroad", said Hilliard. AVI is committed to registering Americans to vote to ensure they have the opportunity to exercise their democratic right.

The PAC will also conduct events, online and in-person, with policy makers to share views and concerns of Americans living abroad. AVI will also donate to political campaigns, based on the PAC's principles of free trade, updated tax policies, and informed and firm foreign policy.
