Congratulations to Neil Suchak on passing his DPhil viva

The RAI congratulates Neil Suchak on the successful defence of his DPhil thesis on 'The Peacemakers: Envisioning a Pax Americana in the Age of Empires'.

Uta Balbier, Neil’s internal examiner and RAI Deputy Director, said, “Professor Michael Cullinane and myself were deeply impressed by the originality and nuance of Neil Suchak’s work. His excellent research on pacifists as imperialists makes an important contribution to the existing historiography on American Empire. The thoughtful way in which Neil discussed his research with us made the viva an intellectually stimulating and enjoyable occasion.
