How the Republican Party can stop Donald Trump: RAI's Tom Packer tells BBC Radio

Dr Tom Packer, Teaching and Research Fellow at the RAI, recently appeared on BBC Radio Wales’s ‘Good Morning Wales' to discuss how the Republican Party hierarchy might prevent Donald Trump from becoming its presidential candidate. The programme can be heard here (with Packer appearing from 08.40 on the clock). Trump can expect "attacks from lots of different angles, on his character, his business dealings and also his policy positions" as a divided party coalesces against him, said Packer. "Only about five per cent of TV ads have been against Donald Trump - that number is going to go up a lot now", Packer predicted. Dr Packer is an expert on American conservatism in the second half of the twentieth century.
