The Rothermere American Institute, St Edmund Hall and Christ Church are delighted to announce the establishment of the Broadbent Junior Research Fellowship in American History. Starting in Michaelmas Term 2017, the endowed fellowship will allow a postdoctoral scholar to produce exceptional research for publication in books and articles, to gain essential experience in teaching, and to work alongside Oxford’s many specialist faculty in American history. Tenable for three years, the Broadbent Junior Research Fellowship will alternate in its college association between St Edmund Hall and Christ Church.
The prize has been endowed by a generous donation from the William S. Broadbent Family and will be funded by the net income from this sum. Avery W. Broadbent (St Edmund Hall, 2004) and William S. Broadbent, Jr. (Christ Church, 2006) both studied in Oxford at the RAI and received Master of Studies, Modern History. The Rothermere American Institute, St Edmund Hall and Christ Church record their gratitude to the Broadbent Family for its generosity in establishing the prize.
