Tom Arnold-Forster Wins History Book Prize

The RAI congratulates Tom Arnold-Forster on winning the 2025 History Book Award from the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication

Tom is a Fellow at the RAI and won the prize for his recent book, Walter Lippmann: An Intellectual Biography (Princeton, 2025). The judges praised the book’s ‘deeply researched intellectual history, stellar writing, and overall brilliance’.

Walter Lippmann: An Intellectual Biography provides a new historical account of a leading political writer who shaped the development of American liberalism and democratic theory across the twentieth century. Ranging from the Progressive Era to the Cold War, the book shows how Lippmann’s thought reflected the protean character of liberal politics and the crises and paradoxes of democracy.
