Book Presentation - "Meet You in Atlantic City: Travels in Springsteen’s New Jersey"

Bruce Springsteen—‘The Boss’—has towered over the rock world since he shot to international fame in the early 1970s. He has always been an outspoken advocate of his home state of New Jersey, which has produced many stars of stage, screen and the musical world.

James Pettifer makes his own philosophical journey as a visiting scholar at Princeton University, where Springsteen’s music becomes a metaphor for the nature of New Jersey society. The narrative is set in 2007, the year of the Magic album, at the height of the Bush Administration. It explores both the great loyalty and derision that New Jersey inspires from those who know it.

This event is open to the public and will be followed by a wine reception.
