The Counter-Narrative, the Racial Imaginary and Visual Art

The 2018 Esmond Harmsworth Lecture in American Arts and Letters will be given by the acclaimed poet and essayist Claudia Rankine.

Claudia Rankine is the Frederick Iseman Professor of Poetry at Yale University and a 2016 MacArthur Fellow. Her work is known for crossing genre boundaries in its explorations of culture, society, and race in contemporary America. Her most recent books are Don't Let Me Be Lonely (2004) and Citizen (2014).
