Open Friday at the RAI: 'In the Name of Peace: John Hume in America'

John Hume served as leader of Northern Ireland’s Social Democratic and Labour Party from 1979 to 2001. He and Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble shared the 1998 Nobel Peace Prize for their work towards the Northern Ireland Peace Process. The relationships that John Hume cultivated with the White House and US Congress proved essential to the eventual conclusion of the Good Friday Agreement.

Narrated by Liam Neeson, this documentary includes wide-ranging interviews with US Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, UK Prime Ministers John Major and Tony Blair, as well as many US Senators, US Congressmen, and Irish leaders.

This event is open to the public and will be followed by a wine reception.
