The Trump Administration and the Federal Reserve under Chairman Powell: The path forward for the U.S. economy

Richard W. Fisher served as President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas – one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that make up the Federal Reserve – from 2005 to 2015. Having studied Economics at Harvard University and Latin American Studies at Oxford, he worked in investment banking and the Treasury Department during the 1970s and ’80s. From 1997 to 2001, he served as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative. In this role he was responsible for the implementation of NAFTA and for negotiating a wide variety of trade agreements, including the bilateral accords which admitted both the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan to the World Trade Organization. He is currently a Senior Advisor to Barclays Plc, a Director of PepsiCo and ATT, and a Senior Contributing Editor for CNBC.
