Desmond King and Lawrence Jacobs publish 'Fed Power: How Finance Wins'

Desmond King, Mellon Professor of American Government at Oxford University and co-author Lawrence R. Jacobs, Walter F. Mondale Chair for Political Studies at the University of Minnesota, have published Fed Power: How Finance Wins (OUP, April 2016). In their third collaborative volume, following co-edited titles on The Unsustainable American State (OUP, 2009) and Obama at the Crossroads: Politics, Markets and the Battle for America's Future (OUP, 2012), the political scientists dissect the Federal Reserve's role in American politics and public life.

Described as "groundbreaking" and "a vibrant form of 21st century financial populism" in a Huffington Post review, Fed Power reveals competing attitudes to federal financial policy in American public life, and critiques the way in which the most powerful of federal economic institutions has developed.
