Captain Aryemis Brown is a multi-domain warfare officer in the United States Space Force, with qualifications in Space Operations, Intelligence, Cyber, and Force Modernisation disciplines. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations under the supervision of Professors Krzysztof Pelc and Janina Dill. A distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and Humanities, with minors in Religious Studies and Philosophy.
His scholarship focuses on global security, international peace, and emerging technologies. Theoretically, he examines the role of soft power in shaping state behaviour. Empirically, his research centres on arms control and governance measures in outer space.
At the core of his work lies a central question: why does a global hegemon voluntarily restrain itself despite overwhelming power? He approaches this question through an interdisciplinary lens that integrates international law, moral philosophy, regulatory economics, political history, military strategy, and orbital mechanics.
