I am a DPhil student in Sociology at Nuffield College and am supported by the Clarendon Scholarship. My research broadly aims to understand police protectionism and police violence in America. Specifically, it explores how police union mechanisms reinforce racial orders by reducing accountability and sustaining cultures which insulate both police forces and their practices from the broader dynamics of equity. My research and commentary has been cited in The New Yorker, The Guardian, Vox, and other news outlets.Â
