Conrad Steel

Conrad Steel is a literary critic who works on twentieth-century and contemporary poetry. He was appointed Robin Geffen Career Development Fellow in English at Keble College in 2023. His first book, The Poetics of Scale: From Apollinaire to Big Data (2024), explores how the inherited forms of modern American poetry became a way to think about complex systems. He currently at work on a history of poetry-writing as a cultural practice since 1945.
