Dr Giuseppe Paparella is Research Fellow at the Oxford-Hyundai Motor Group Foresight Centre, Saïd Business School, at the University of Oxford. His research agenda investigates the social-psychological factors shaping U.S. foreign policy and relations, with a focus on the Asia Pacific. His first book, Abiding Influence: Presidents, Nationalist Beliefs and U.S. Policy in the Asia Pacific, 1898-1972, will be published with Stanford University Press for the Studies in Asian Security series in 2025.Â
Upon obtaining a PhD in Security Studies from King’s College London in 2021, Dr Paparella held research appointments at the London School of Economics and Political Science (2024-2025), William & Mary (2022-2024), the Rothermere American Institute (2022), and George Washington University (2021-2022). His research has been published or is forthcoming in the US Army War College Press, The International History Review, National Identities, The Diplomat, H-Diplo/RJISSF, The Strategy Bridge and others.Â
