Miyo Peck-Suzuki

Miyo Peck-Suzuki is a DPhil in Political Theory at Nuffield College, Oxford. Her research interests revolve broadly around feminist theory, anti-carceralism, and critical theories of state power.

Peck-Suzuki’s doctoral work focuses on the feminists of the Asian American Movement. Relying on archival work and interviews, her dissertation pushes against the notion that there has never been a distinct Asian American feminism and draws out the Movement’s theoretical contributions for philosophies of race, work, and gender.

Peck-Suzuki completed her MPhil in Political Theory with Distinction in 2023 at the Queen’s College, Oxford. Her MPhil thesis, “Between Carceralism and Community: Assessing Feminist Alternatives to the Carceral State,” was awarded the inaugural MPhil Thesis Prize in Political Theory. She graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s in Philosophy and also holds a Bachelor’s in Social Science from Sciences Po Paris Campus de Menton.
