Rachel Reville

I am currently undertaking a DPhil in Modern History at University College Oxford, supervised by Professor Ben Jackson. My research focuses on the impact of US President Franklin Roosevelt on Britain and I am also interested more widely in Anglo-American History, the Roosevelt dynasty and the social, cultural and economic changes of twentieth century America.

Prior to my DPhil, I completed a BA in History and Politics at the University of York followed by an MSc in Global Politics at the London School of Economics. A key focus of mine at LSE was America’s role in the variety of diplomatic crises which characterised the International Relations of the twentieth century.

In between studies I have worked in both the education sector and in politics. I have taught in the UK and Italy and led American Studies student trips to Capitol Hill and the White House. Immediately before coming to Oxford I worked for six years in Westminster as a researcher in the office of a Member of Parliament.
